Gatti Foundry SRL is born in Pilar, in May 1947. Because there was a need to have frameworks of melted iron for pianos, the Gatti’s brothers - Edgardo, Abelardo and Reynato -, decided to start a melting industry.
Through the years, the effort of Gatti brothers allowed, besides the fabrication of frameworks for pianos, the fabrication of car’s bujes, pan/saucepan, irons for beefsteak, pieces for agricultural equipment, etc....

In 1968 an important change in the company takes place. It is the relationship with tractors and motors’s terminal factories; which led to another system of work, with more control in materials and inspections on finals products before theirs sales.
Later on, in 1974, the factory is automated, which is a very important development for that period of time. Since then, there have been improvements in the installations and processes. In 1998 it received the certification of ISO 9002 by TÜV Rheinlad certifyre.
A plant with the best efficiency and technology has been growing. In 2000, the incorporation of an electric furnace with two bachas and five tons, at induction, INDUCTOTHERM, 3500 kW of power; is a very important step for the company.
After that we are able to construct NODULAR IRON pieces, which are nowadays the 60% of production. At the beginning of 2004, an Italian NOYERA of Cold Box was installed, which NOYOS actually supply around 90% to the molding line.
Last year, 2005, a mixing mill of sand EIRICH (made in Brazil with German technology) was bought. This mill has 40 tn/h of capacity of sand’s mixed. Also the company has recently acquired a molding machine SINTO FB III. The mold’s dimensions are: 508 x 660 x 250/250.

The machine production capacity’s is 120 mold/h.
With 58 years of life, Gatti Foundry SRL is still investing on high technology to continue producing nodular and grey iron pieces with the same best quality; which allowed it to become one of the most important foundries of the country.
